My husband Horace Hagedorn died in January 2005 at 89 years of age. Horace was notable for a great deal more than his longevity. He was a devoted philanthropist and the marketing genius behind Miracle-Gro plant food, perhaps the best-known product in the gardening industry.

About Horace Hagedorn

Horace Hagedorn, who applied Madison Avenue wizardry to the new plant food his wife named Miracle Gro and sold it to just about every one of the post war suburbanites who yearned for a green thumb, died in January 2005, at his home in Sands Point, NY. He was eighty-nine.
